Dr. Korinne “Kori” Babel is an Associate Professor at the University of North Alabama. She is an instructor for the Clinical Mental Health program. She completed her Ph.D. in Counselor Education from Auburn University, her MS in School Counseling from Argosy University-Sarasota, and her BS in Early Childhood Education from the University of South Florida. Dr. Babel is a Licensed Professional Counselor (GA), Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor (GA), Approved Clinical Supervisor, National Certified Counselor, and a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor™. She has been a National Childhood Traumatic Stress Network affiliate for eight years and is a certified DC 0-5 trainer through Zero to Three. Before earning her master’s degree, she was an elementary educator in a Title 1 school. She has researched aggressive toys in play therapy, pre-credentialed and counselor-in-training self-efficacy, and Animal Assisted Play Therapy®. She is active in numerous counseling professional organizations and has presented at state, regional, national, and international levels.
